Turn an ordinary 55-gallon barrel into a backyard water-saving machine!

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll build your own rain barrel from a repurposed, food-grade barrel and take it home with you. Along the way, you’ll learn how rain barrels can help conserve water, support healthier landscapes, and reduce stormwater runoff, plus how to properly use and maintain yours for years to come.

Here’s the scoop:

  • Cost: $35 per household, includes one 55-gallon rain barrel and all retrofit materials
  • One barrel per household: Couples and household members are welcome to attend together. You only need to register once.
  • Come ready to build: We’ll be drilling and assembling barrels during the workshop. We’ll have a drill and all necessary drill bits available, but bring your own drill if you have one to help keep things moving.
  • Plan for the ride home: Your finished barrel is coming with you! Please bring a vehicle large enough to safely transport a 55-gallon barrel.
  • Pre-registration is required: Space and materials are limited, and you must attend the workshop to receive your barrel.

Cancellation Policy: Can’t make it? Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance by emailing Stacey Selcho. This gives us a chance to offer your spot and barrel to someone else. Refunds are available with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Come ready to learn, build, and leave with a simple way to put every rainy day to work!
