Sales tax Notice for Workshops & Events
As of October 1, 2025, Washington State law Requires sales tax to be applied to many live presentations, including workshops, seminars, lectures, and courses where participants attend in person or interact with presenters online in real time.
Because our organization ocassionally charges a registration fee for educational workshops led by guest instructors, Washington retail sales tax may be added to applicable registration fees. This requirement is determined by the Washington State Department of Revenue and applies to many non-accredited organizations offering paid educational events.
We strive to keep our workshops accessible and affordable, and many of our educational programs remain free thanks to grant funding and community partnerships.
if you have any questions about workshop pricing or sales tax, please feel free to contacts our team. You may also reference the Washington State Department of Revenue website for more information.
